Description

POSITION SUMMARY

 

Keep all animals and living quarters clean and sanitary by cleaning the areas daily, including tack and saddling areas. Handle, restrain, saddle, and groom horses. Confirm that all animals are accounted for and receive proper vitamins and supplements. Monitor food and water levels to maintain proper diets for all animals. Monitor animals for signs of illness and injury through visual examinations and contact management immediately if an animal is sick or injured. Collect specimens and cultures from the animals for the veterinarian or lab, as necessary. Administer treatment to animals as prescribed and under the guidance of the prescribing veterinarian. Store food, vitamins, and medical supplies. Maintain tack in safe and ready to use condition. Assist guests in signing-in, including completing trail release forms and payment. Book rides in the reservation system and match riders to horses. Assist customers with mounting and dismounting horses.

 

Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures. Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications. Ensure uniform and personal appearances are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests’ service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation. Adhere to quality expectations and standards. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Speak with others using clear and professional language. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance. Move up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or ladders. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:                               High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.

Related Work Experience:      At least 1-year of related work experience.

Supervisory Experience:         No supervisory experience.

License or Certification:          None
