Job location: Half Acre Gym


Pay rate or range: $12/hour



JOB PURPOSE: 


The Wellness Center offers a unique opportunity for students to gain leadership skills in health education and health promotion, while also working in a nationally award-winning and popular wellness office within the Campus Recreation Department.  We are looking for students interested in promoting wellness to their peers and to the campus community.  Wellness Center Assistants will also assist in the daily operations and implementation of Wellness Center programming.  They will receive training in the multiple dimensions of wellness that may include but will not be limited to: nutrition, mental health, stress, alcohol and other drugs, body image, sexual health, sexual violence, financial wellness, and physical activity.  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Provide administrative support to the Wellness Center by staffing Wellness Center reception desk, scheduling and checking-in appointments for massage chairs, relaxation pod, athletic training etc., assisting with Wellness Center programs, and cleaning.

  • Serve as a Wellness Center representative on campus-based coalitions, committees, and health education initiatives

  • Conduct outreach (in-person and/or virtual) for Wellness Center, which may include health education presentations, resource tables, virtual programs, and Saddle Up events.

  • Serve as a health education resource and referral agent to promote campus and community resources and services

  • Create materials and displays for the Wellness Center

  • Assist with Wellness Center data collection and data entry

  • Participate in Wellness Center and Campus Recreation team meetings and trainings

  • Work as a team member of the Wellness Center and Campus Recreation Department.


REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY: 


This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:  Current UWYO student
 Other requirements:Must be eligible, have received and accepted work study award through Student Financial Aid for the applicable semester and/or academic year.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with Microsoft Office or willingness to learn
