What you will be doing:
At the Wasilla UMV as a Customer Service Agent starting up to $20 an hour plus sales commissions and potential bonuses, you will process DMV related transactions for walk-in clients. You will utilize a variety of websites and databases to review and input client personal and vehicle information and handle cash and credit card transactions. You will also conduct additional sales of products and transaction options. You will be expected to maintain a high level of documentation accuracy and a positive client experience while abiding by state regulations and UMV standards. You will have a team of fellow agents and managers that are always available to answer questions and assist. No two days will be the same and everyday will bring a new experience and opportunity to help clients, coworkers and to learn.
A successful candidate will:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Pass a background check. We use Alaska state information systems. Gaining access requires passing a background check and fingerprinting.
- Have a valid Alaska Driver's License or ID, with a clean driving history
- Be reliable and punctual.
- Have the keyboarding skills to quickly and accurately enter data into multiple systems.
- Be proficient at using a computer and have used Microsoft products for processing documents and communicating within and outside an organization.
- Have experience providing exceptional in-person customer service.
- Have knowledge of sales and service techniques to aid in establishing and meeting personal and company goals.
- Be professional in appearance, communications, and service.
- Exhibit exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written, & listening).
- Be eager and motivated to learn as an individual and as part of the team.
- Ideally have a background in banking and/or car sales
Some of the duties and responsibilities of this job are:
- Be punctual and reliable by showing up for your scheduled time to work.
- Complete DMV related transactions quickly and accurately in accordance with state and UMV standards.
- Ensure compliance with UMV marketing, image, and service delivery goals.
- Complete sales transactions and accurately handle payment and a cash register.
- Professionally encouraging additional purchases.
- Be responsible for the security, accountability, and control of DMV inventory and branch supplies.
- Ensure your branch and work space are well maintained, clean, and secure.

Compensation:
- Starting Hourly Pay: Up to $20 an hour Depending on Experience
- Compensation is based on experience and performance.
- Employees on average can receive the equivalent of an extra $2.75 or more an hour per year with sales incentives and bonuses.
- $2600 additional per year in Healthcare Stipend ($100 per paycheck after 60 day introductory period).
- Customer Service Agent positions are tiered with opportunities for advancement and promotional pay increases.Β

Hours and Locations:
- Monday β Saturday between 9:00 am and 5:30 pm.
- Schedules are 8 hours plus a lunch daily between 8:45 am and 6 pm, 5 days per week, including Saturdays.
Education: High school Diploma or equivalent (Required).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
