Requirements/Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelorβs degree in park/recreation management or a related field; (wildlife, fisheries, natural resources sciences, public administration, history, cultural resource preservation, interpretation, travel and tourism, planning) AND at least one year related experience. Related coursework/training and/or experience in park/recreation management or related field may substitute for the Bachelorβs degree on a year-for-year basis.
Other: Driverβs license is required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of historical park administration; operation and maintenance of park facilities, preservation and conservation techniques related to maintenance of historic structures and artifact collection; museum/interpretive center operating fundamentals and requirements; park operations, financial management, departmental rules and regulations. Ability to assess, plan and formulate park management needs; communicate effectively; establish and maintain community and public relations with private and governmental entities; plan, assign and supervise the work of others; prepare and maintain reports; enforce park rules and regulations.
