Overview






Reports To: Senior Vice President of Compliance and Risk
 
Functions Supervised: Vendor Management
 
Primary Functions: Expand, manage, document, and continuously improve the vendor management program consisting of contract lifecycle management, vendor risk management, vendor data analytics, and relationship management throughout the credit union. Identify, mitigate and provide advice on third party risk and vendor management issues. Oversee the Credit Union’s vendor  management program, including the assessment, due diligence, contract administration, and oversight of credit union vendors. Work with department and line of business contract owners to manage the risks presented by vendor relationships and agreements. Act as the credit union subject matter expert for enterprise contract administration.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee support being provided to business lines on complex enterprise transactional agreements and engagements.
  2. Develop and improve workflows for initial procurement requirements, contract preparation, negotiation, and finalization to ensure contracts are completed and properly documented in credit union systems.
  3. Leverage artificial intelligence tools and methodologies to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of contracting and vendor management processes.
  4. Develop and improve the vendor risk management and vendor data analytics programs.
  5. Train and guide personnel on the use of contract playbooks, templates, and best practices in contracting, risk management, and third-party governance.
  6. Review and make recommendations to update vendor management program policies, procedures, forms, and checklists based on the credit union’s evolving vendor experience and risk profile.
  7. Research evolving regulatory standards regarding third-party vendor relationships in the financial services industry and provide recommendations to the Vendor Management Committee and Senior Vice President of Compliance and Risk for program improvements.
  8. Develop standards and oversight mechanisms to validate, monitor and test vendor compliance with federal and state consumer protection requirements.
  9. Train and develop vendor analysts and assist with training of contract personnel in other departments.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.








Qualifications






Education:  Bachelor's degree in legal studies, business, finance, or related field expected.  Advanced degrees in law, business and/or other applicable professional vendor management-related certifications preferred (i.e., Certified Professional Vendor Manager; Certified Vendor Manager; Certified Contract Management Professional; Project Management Institute Vendor Management Professional).

 

Creditable Experience in Lieu of Education: Not Applicable

 

Experience/Skills: Ten or more years of contracting experience. Current working knowledge of the Uniform Commercial Code, technology contracting issues, and state law contracting principles. Experience implementing contract management processes in large organizations. Ability to excel in upper-level management environment. Experience leading a diverse team through hiring, coaching, and performance management. Ability to successfully drive projects, processes, and change management concepts in a dynamic and complex operating environment. Deep familiarity and hands-on experience with contract law principles, negotiation techniques, and project management principles. Demonstrated experience establishing credibility and rapport with business units, executives, and external business partners. Strong initiative to self-identify areas in need of improvement. Significant analytical skills and strong organizational ability. Keen attention to detail. Excellent and demonstrable oral and written communication skills. High emotional intelligence, good judgment, and sense of humor. Proficiency in MS Word, Power Point, Excel, and Sharepoint is required

Senior Manager, Third Party Risk (Category 05)

 

Salary Pay Range: $99,419 - $173,070 annually. Starting base salary will be determined based on candidate experience, qualifications, education, and local or state wage requirements, if applicable and will fall within the range provided above.

 

In accordance with our Salary Administration policy, new hire base salaries generally fall within the minimum to midpoint of the listed range.
