We are comprised of thirteen subspecialty-trained radiologists backed by a team of technologists and administrative staff. Job Summary:

Under general supervision, the Radiology Technologist will perform X-Ray/Flouro exams in accordance with accepted standards of practice and protocols of the individual site radiologist. Additional responsibilities include providing procedure-related patient care and education, maintaining records and documentation of procedures, and ensuring the safety and comfort of all patients, operators, staff and visitors. This position will require someone who can work effectively independently, as well as part of a team.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Produces x-ray/flouro images as ordered by referring physicians for use in diagnosing medical conditions.
  • Provides proper radiation protection for patient and staff.
  • Explains and reviews the referring physician’s order and what images will be done with the patient.
  • Positions patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately radiographed.
  • Adjusts controls on the x-ray machine to produce radiographs of the appropriate density, detail, and contrast of the body part.
  • Sets up examination room, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are ready for the exam.
  • Completes and signs patient screening forms and explains the procedure to the patient.
  • Obtains necessary consent from patients before conducting procedure.
  • Maintains patient care, comfort and safety during exams.
  • After completed exam, makes sure images and documentation are put on PACS in a timely manner.
  • Communicates with front desk staff of any changes that may alter the flow of the patient schedule.
  • Performs equipment quality checks and troubleshoots problems; Calls for service and notifies appropriate management.
  • Maintains equipment service manual, delivery schedule and all related statistics.
  • Maintains and cleans all equipment in accordance with decontamination procedures.
  • Assists with patient preparation for other modalities as needed.
  • Performs other tasks assigned by radiologists and management.

 

 

Qualifications

Required Education, Training & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current ARRT certification required.
  • Current CPR certification for healthcare providers
  • 2 years’ minimum experience as an X-Ray technologist.
  • Current ARRT certification in CT/MRI preferred but not required.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Detailed knowledge of current X-Ray procedures and protocols.
  • Detailed knowledge of current CT/MRI procedures and protocols preferred but not required.
  • Proficient in:
    • PACS and RIS Systems
    • Microsoft Office Suite applications
    • Accessing and navigating company intranet for forms, policies and procedures
    • Accessing and entering data on organization wide software
    • Accessing and using internet resources where required in order to perform job duties
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate findings to reading Radiologists and interact in a positive and professional manner with patients and their family members.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with physicians, co-workers, patients and their families.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist; lift up to 20 lbs. over the head; and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.

  • Physical ability to perform all aspects of diagnostic testing, including CPR on all patients.
  • Cognitive skill required to administer safe patient care.
  • Read/write/speak and understand English.
  • Auditory and visual ability to assess and provide diagnostic care.
  • Most work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well-ventilated facilities.
