The Military and Family Life Counseling (MFLC) Program was established to expand access to confidential, face-to-face counseling and reduce the barriers and stigma often associated with seeking counseling support. In 2007, the Child and Youth Behavioral (CYB) counselor position was added to the MFLC Program to provide additional nonmedical counseling opportunities to the military service members’ families by supporting their dependents within schools, child and youth development centers (CDCs), and child-oriented programs they attend (e.g., summer camps).
Summary:
We are currently seeking qualified CHILD Camp Counselor (CYB) to support the Military and Family Life Counseling (MFLC) program in Cooper Landing, Alaska. Salary and leveling commensurate with experience.
MFLC CHILD camp counselors provide services to children of military service members to increase their ability to develop strong relationships, solve problems, and adequately express and manage their emotions. MFLC CHILD Camp counselors work closely with points of contact (POCs) to ensure that program services are provided within the scope of the contract and meet the needs of the assigned location.
