Job Description

Summary
The Maitre d’ will play a pivotal role in managing our restaurant operations and reservations, ensuring that every guest receives personalized attention in an elegant and welcoming environment.

The budgeted pay range for this position is $21.00 to $24.00 per hour. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience.

Essential Job Functions
• Greet and welcome guests with warmth and professionalism
• Anticipate guest needs and provide personalized service to create memorable dining experiences
• Oversee the reservation system, ensuring optimal table allocation and managing waitlists during peak times
• Collaborate with the restaurant manager and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Train, mentor, and lead front-of-house staff in service standards and best practices.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the menu, wine list, and specials to effectively communicate with guests and provide recommendations
• Monitor service quality and guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience, promptly addressing any issues or concerns
• Assist in planning and executing private dining events and special occasions, coordinating details with the culinary team and guests
• Ensure that the restaurant maintains an inviting atmosphere, including cleanliness, decor, and overall presentation
• Work closely with management to develop and implement strategies to enhance guest experiences and drive restaurant success

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a high-end restaurant or resort environment, preferably in a Maitre D' or similar role
• Strong knowledge of fine dining service standards and wine pairings
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on guest satisfaction
• Proven leadership abilities and experience in staff training and development
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Additional Information

Supervision Given and Received
Given: Provide guidance to the restaurant Host staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, frequent and detailed review of work, planning and assigning work, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Received: Works under direct supervision of the Restaurant Manager. Tasks are assigned according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently. Instruction, advice and assistance are readily available.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
• Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time
• Regularly work in wet, hot and humid conditions for extended periods of time and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
• Must be able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance
