Job Summary: Provides all guests with the highest quality experience possible. Prepares beverages for guests in a professional and efficient manner. Supervises all bars (Palisades, North Bowl, and 39°). Ensures the bar culture aligns with that of the brand and the resort.

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC’s hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Base hourly pay range: $17.00 - $22.07 per hour

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned:

  • Provide customers with top quality customer service in a friendly and positive manner.
  • Develop bar team's understanding of guest service in order to anticipate and exceed customer expectations.
  • Ensures all Palisades Tahoe policies are adhered to, including but not limited to: resort cocktail recipes, RBS trainings, Food Handlers cars and F&B Alcohol Consumption policy for all bar team members.
  • Supervises operation, ensures accurate delivery of beverages and service, trains bar staff to expectations of responsible bar and guest service.
  • Works all bars in the department on a rotation; 39°, Palisades Bar, North Bowl Bar to ensure quality control and awareness of operations being managed.
  • Participates in employee recognition and discipline.
  • Manage COGs within the bar(s) and ensure breaks/transfers are completed accurately and on time each week for accounting purposes.
  • Participates in monthly inventory.
  • Provide information and answer questions about the menu, facility and Palisades Tahoe or be able to locate information.
  • Check identification of customers to make sure they meet age requirements for purchase of alcohol products.
  • Ensure daily prep lists and production are complete for all bar locations. Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
  • Collect payment and operate a point-of-sale machine.
  • Determine when a customer has had too much alcohol and notify management immediately
  • Maintain a clean and tidy workspace, including the bar dining rooms.
  • Establish, order and maintain liquor and bar supplies according to pars
  • Arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive displays.

Competencies and Job Requirements:

Required:

  • Must have Food Handlers and RBS training and certification withing 7 days of employment
  • Effective communication skills, oral & written
  • Strong sense of customer service & safety awareness
  • Able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Have a neat & clean appearance in compliance with the company grooming standards
  • Punctual, able to report at scheduled start time
  • Work well as part of a team.
  • Able to remain patient, calm and composed in a fast paced, high volume demanding environment.

Preferred:

  • Knowledgeable about all aspects of the menu, restaurant and Palisades Tahoe or be able to locate information.

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two years in a supervisory role
  • Two years bartending experience
  • Must have or be able to obtain a California Food Handlers card.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, see, and hear. Must be capable of walking or standing 90% or more of a normal 8 hour work shift. Must be capable of frequently carrying, lifting. pushing or pulling up to 50lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.
