Job Description

Revelyst is seeking a well-rounded indirect tax professional to join our corporate team. The right person will have experience in sales and use tax, property tax, gross receipts taxes, and excise taxes with great leadership and communication skills. This position will have responsibilities for all aspects of Revelyst’s indirect tax compliance and planning. The position will work directly with business groups and operations, corporate finance, upper management, and external third party service providers in carrying out his or her responsibilities.

Revelyst is looking for a team member to partner with tax management and other key stakeholders to maintain a high standard of tax compliance and reporting. Revelyst has operations throughout the world that encounter unique indirect tax issues.

This position reports to the Director, Tax and is hybrid, allowing you the flexibility to work from your home office and is based out of our Anoka office.

As the Indirect Tax Manager, you will have an opportunity to:

  • Prepare/review monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax returns
  • Prepare/review annual personal property tax returns
  • Prepare/review monthly, quarterly, and annual gross receipts tax returns
  • Manage indirect tax audits including data gathering, review, communications, and closing audits
  • Assist in the identification and implementation of indirect tax planning and opportunities
  • Assist upper management with merger, acquisition, and disposition activities
  • Review, analyze, and interpret existing tax laws and proposed tax legislation for the purpose of keeping the Company compliant with all tax laws
  • Provide strategic and tactical advice on the tax impacts of business activities, M&A, proposed/implemented law changes, and other strategies.
  • Act as Tax department liaison/subject matter expert on indirect tax issues to other departments within the business
  • Collaborate with tax team to assist with all areas of tax as needed

You have:

  • 5+ years of related corporate or public accounting experience
  • Experience preparing and filing sales and use tax returns in all U.S. jurisdictions
  • Experience preparing and filing personal property tax returns
  • Experience working with audit and controversy work
  • Identification and implementation of indirect tax planning and opportunities
  • Experience working with mergers and acquisitions, preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and other MS products

You might have:

  • Knowledge of Vertex and Avalara preferred
  • Knowledge and proficiency with Alteryx preferred
