Description

Facilitate program offerings at Saddle Horn Ranch, including but not limited to, lead/guide trail rides, horsemanship classes, and horse care. Also assist in maintaining a safe, enjoyable atmosphere and environment for campers, guests, and staff, and help in providing the best possible care for the animals.

  • Ensure safety in all class situations.
  • Help guests and staff with their involvement in the ranch program, including trail rides and horse camps.
  • Help with feeding animals.
  • Help with work projects as needed.
  • Perform assigned tasks with enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
  • Attend all meetings, both departmental and camp-wide.
  • Be involved in other camp activities as planned by the Recreation and Ministry Departments, as the schedule allows, mainly after dinner hours.
  • Assist in various responsibilities in order to facilitate Sunday camper drop- off and Saturday camper pick-up.
  • Fulfill temporary assignments to other duties, including Cabin Leader, as needed.

Positional

  • Is a people person who is able to relate well to guests, campers, and staff.
  • Is a self-starter.
  • Exhibits proficient riding and horse knowledge.
  • Has the ability to work with horses and other farm animals.
  • Can lift and carry heavy loads: saddles up to 35 lbs., hay bales up to 50 lbs.
  • Can climb 30' haystacks to throw down hay bales when feeding stock.
  • Is able to physically traverse the multi-terrain campground in all seasons of the year; able to be on one’s feet for long periods of time.

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at time of hire to be considered for this position.

Salary Description

$275/week
