Job Description

Summary

The Field Merchandiser will work with the Merchandise team and the Store Operations team in the training, development, management and execution of seasonal store merchandising plans. This role will coordinate creative marketing, activations, and seasonal changes to drive sales and create a compelling store environment.

Essential Job Functions

Execute and maintain the visual merchandising strategy that will protect the Brand DNA, ensuring this shows up throughout product placement and visual merchandising displays on the retail floors
Responsible for managing, communicating and maintaining the working calendar for seasonal floor set implementation through partnering with the store operations team and opening dates
Partner with the Retail Training Manager to ensure Store Operations teams are trained on visual standards and merchandising best practices
Ensure all merchandising tactics are created and distributed to retail stores to support campaigns, activations and business objectives
Support buying and operational teams with inventory management by identifying products that need reallocation and taking appropriate action
Maintain an asset tracking tool for all fixtures, tools, props, and signage
Respond to and track requests for signage, repairs, or replacement of assets
Maintain a photo journal of all retail windows, displays and floor sets
Required to work in stores during peak times
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Requires 3+ years of retail and/or merchandising experience, preferably within the Outdoor Industry
Ability to work independently and manage teams or individuals to follow established merchandising standards and decision making while maintaining strong relationships
Proficiency with Microsoft products; experience with NetSuite and/or RTP a plus
Must be well organized and detail oriented
Strong communication skills both written and verbal
Must be able to travel from store to store throughout the Aspen Snowmass area and occasionally outside the valley

Supervision Given and Received
Supervision Given: This position does not supervise others.
Supervision Received: Works under direct supervision of Merchandise Manager. Tasks are assigned according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently. Instruction, advice and assistance are readily available.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Ability to stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time. Kneeling and bending may be required
Regularly work indoors with no adverse conditions. Some positions require exposure to outdoor elements or a combination of both indoors and outdoors and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance (weight limits can vary according to position, but no more than 50)
