POSITION SUMMARY:

The Employee Housing Facilities Team Leader is integral to the smooth operation of our facility, assisting the Operations Manager in directing and coordinating the facilities team. This role involves overseeing the daily cleaning operations, delegating tasks, inspecting rooms, and ensuring that all common areas and rooms are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, a keen attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to keep the team on track and ensure the property remains in top condition. S/he must follow all Winter Park policies and procedures, all applicable laws (federal, state, and local), and all health and sanitation codes.

WAGE:

Hourly pay: $22/hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Lead and supervise a team of janitors, providing guidance, support, and motivation.
  • Delegate daily cleaning tasks and ensure all assignments are completed efficiently and to standard.
  • Train new janitorial staff and provide ongoing training and support to existing team members.
  • Ensure team members complete tasks accurately and in a timely manner, including monitoring breaks and work schedules.
  • Perform deep cleans on common areas and rooms
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks as needed and directed by Employee Housing Management.
  • Ensure all cleaning equipment and supplies are properly used and maintained.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of cleaning supplies, ensuring the team has what they need to perform their tasks effectively.
  • Conduct regular inspections of cleaned rooms and common areas to ensure adherence to cleanliness standards.
  • Identify areas needing improvement and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Document and report maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Operations Manager and/or TWA.
  • Develop and manage cleaning schedules to ensure all areas are covered efficiently and effectively.
  • Coordinate with the Operations Manager to prioritize tasks and address urgent cleaning needs.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment through teamwork and open communication.
  • Address any team member concerns or conflicts promptly and effectively.
  • Motivate the team to achieve high performance and recognize outstanding work.
  • Ensure all cleaning activities adhere to safety guidelines and company policies.
  • Ensure team members use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Stay informed about and implement best practices in cleaning and sanitation.
  • Direct and/or perform snow removal and parking duties as assigned.
  • Lift and move furniture, supplies, and equipment as necessary.
  • Act as a specific project leader as assigned.
  • Be available to work weekends, holidays, additional hours, and respond to last-minute schedule changes as required.
  • Perform other duties as directed by Management.
  • Work schedule is 8 hours/day, 5 days/week.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • High School or GED [General Education Development – High School Equivalent]

Experience:

  • At least one year of experience in employee housing facilities.
  • Supervisory experience is desirable.
  • Demonstrated janitorial and supervisory ability, preferably at Winter Park Resort.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be self-motivated and work effectively with other work groups and departments.
  • Should have basic computer literacy.
  • Clean driving record.

  • The degree of strenuous activity within the job is considered to be high. Often lifting a weight of 50 pounds throughout the day is common.
  • Additional strenuous physical activity may include walking or hiking upon uneven, challenging terrain with heavy tools or equipment.
  • Exposure to: Chemicals required for painting, maintenance materials, Ultra Violet radiation from the sun enhanced through lack of atmospheric filtration at work altitude. Fumes produced in activities ranging from cleaning to painting to fabrication of metal products. Noise generated by snow blower and tools may require hearing protection to be worn.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.

SPECIAL SKILLS:

  • Experience with vacuums, carpet extractors, floor scrubbers, and buffers.
  • Proficiency with Rent Manager, Inspections, and Service Issues.
  • Familiarity with paper and soap dispensers and chemical dispensing machines.
  • Knowledge of janitorial equipment, supplies, and chemicals.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Must possess a valid Colorado Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
