A Basin Climbing Coach/Instructor is an integral team member who is responsible for delivering diverse climbing content to our youth climbing teams, patrons, and staff. Coaches partner with Team Coach Supervisors to collaborate and execute programming that results in transformative experiences and teaches life skills through the sport of climbing.

What you’ll be doing:

Monitor physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing and support transformative experiences for athletes while ensuring activities promote our core values and a sense of belonging in members.

Work with the Head Coach and Director of Programs to follow the season schedule and deliver daily instruction for each respective level of team including Competitions, Events, Training plans, etc.

Coach at practices for one or more levels of teams, and competitions as needed based on athlete attendance.

Provide supervision for youth climbers with bouldering and belaying.

Assist Director of Programs with administrative duties including the monitor of team rosters, track belay training, compiling practice notes, and communicating with parents.

Communicate effectively any issues or concerns with Team Coach Supervisors and management team in a timely manner.

Any additional tasks and projects assigned, including, but not limited to teaching belay classes, assisting in the curation of curriculum, teaching one-off clinics/classes, and attendance of competitions/clinics.
