Position Title: Camp Cook
Location: Remote Alaska Range, Alaska

Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Camp Cook to manage the kitchen operations and ensure the smooth running of our camp. The ideal candidate will have cooking experience, food handling training, and the physical ability to carry up to 45 pounds. Specific duties and qualifications will vary depending on job classification.

Qualifications:

1. Cooking experience, with formal training as a plus.


2. Food service/food handling training.


3. Highly organized and clean.


4. Physically fit and able to carry 45 pounds.


5. Additional qualifications dependent upon classification (see below).

Job Responsibilities:

1. General Responsibilities:
   
   
   
   • Operation of the camp kitchen and all related aspects, including food ordering and camp population tracking.
   
   
   • Supervising kitchen staff as needed based on job classification.
   
   
   • Cleaning kitchen and/or camp facilities, including showers and bathrooms.
   
   
   • Ordering supplies and working with the expeditor to ensure a well-stocked, efficiently running camp.
   
   
   • Acting as a liaison with the client and working closely with the Camp Manager to ensure smooth operations.
   
   
   
   


2. Detailed Responsibilities by Classification:
   
   
   
   • Basic meal preparation and kitchen maintenance.
   
   
   • Assisting in food ordering and inventory management.
     
     
     
     
     • Advanced meal preparation and kitchen management.
     
     
     • Supervising junior kitchen staff.
     
     
     • Managing food inventory and ordering.
     
     
     • Ensuring cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained throughout the camp:
       
       
       
       • Overseeing all kitchen operations and staff.
       
       
       • Planning and executing menus.
       
       
       • Coordinating closely with the Camp Manager and client to meet all dietary and operational needs.
       
       
       • Ensuring overall camp cleanliness and compliance with health regulations.
       
       
       
       
     
     
     
     
   
   
   
   

Additional Information:

• Work Environment: This position may require work in remote locations, often under varying weather conditions.


• Physical Requirements: Must be able to carry heavy supplies and equipment (up to 45 pounds).


• Training: On-the-job training will be provided, with opportunities for advancement based on performance and skill development.
