This role is posted for our spring/summer 2025 season!

What will you do in this job?

This is a remote, fly-in position located in Denali National Park. Due to this, all positions at DBL require assisting in other departments.

Safety, anticipating guest needs, honoring our surroundings and bringing your best every day are the core values we live by in order to provide dynamic guest service at the Denali Backcountry Lodge. As a Baker, you will be responsible for preparing a wide variety of breads, rolls, pastries and other baked goods. You will work independently for extended periods throughout the day, but will also require you to be flexible and to work as a part of the kitchen staff in order to meet production deadlines and food quality guidelines.  You will have a range of duties and responsibilities such as:

  • Baking large quantities of goods
  • Maintaining standards of safety and sanitation
  • Supervise employees and/or other helpers in the preparation of baked goods
  • Read and follow recipes

What skills and experience do you need for this job?

  • At least two years of prior culinary experience; a degree in culinary arts or equivalent certification
  • Works well under pressure
  • Professional communication skills, both oral and written
  • Knowledge of food values and nutrition
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
