Job Summary: Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Palisades Tahoe Activities Department with 2 direct reports and 20 - 30 employees.

Applicants must be 18+ years of age.

Hourly:

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC’s hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Base hourly pay range: $22.96 - $32.14 per hour

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned:

  • Lead the Activities team in Snow Tubing/Disco Tubing operations
  • Ensure safety of guests and employees by maintaining tubing lanes, signage, and fencing
  • Assist manager in supervising a team of 20-35 employees. Assist in supervisory responsibilities such as interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Comply with Federal and California Labor law in all phases of the payroll and employment process; from hiring through termination, as well as all Company policies & procedures.
  • Assist in seasonal opening and closing duties for SnoVentures and High Camp Activities.
  • Assist with job performance evaluations by observing daily and overall job performance
  • Perform daily open/close procedures according to company policy and procedures and ensure the completion of day-to-day operational tasks.
  • Responsible for training and monitoring activities of recreation attendants, recreation leads, and supervisors.
  • Understand and develop an in-depth knowledge of the products sold. These product categories include but are not limited to; Season Passes, Daily tickets, Adult and Children Ski School, and Resort Activities.

Competencies and Job Requirements:

  • Able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally across all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships and interact with others
  • Working knowledge of computers including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)
  • Willingness to learn POS systems including RTP, Ikon Tools, Inntopia, and Aspenware

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, see, and hear. Must be capable of walking or standing 90% or more of a normal 8 hour work shift. Must be capable of occasionally carrying, lifting, pushing or pulling up to 50lbs. Must capable of occasionally squatting, bending, kneeling, reaching, and balancing, able to climb ladders and shovel snow. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions:

Indoor/Outdoor: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee will frequently be exposed to extreme cold, wetness and/or humidity, and occasionally blizzards and extreme storm conditions.

Hazardous Materials/Noise: The noise level in the work place is usually moderate.

Equipment Used in Job: Snowblower, shovel, surface lift (magic carpet), 4x4 UTV

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One or more years supervisory experience
  • One or more years ski industry experience

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience operating a tubing hill, gas powered snowblower
  • Experience with RTP
