Behavioral Health Technician (Recovery Support Specialist)

Overview:

Our Recovery Support Staff (BHT) team works hands-on with clients on a non-clinical basis throughout the duration of the clients stay. RSS is tasked with 24-hour direct supervision of clients, holding each client personally accountable through the enforcement of policy and procedure. RSS serves each client by offering growth opportunities, encouragement and support based upon the application of the 12 Steps into real life situations. Other RSS duties include the observation of client medication administration, transportation of clients to and from 12 Step meetings, medical appointments and the gym, documentation of observed behavioral issues and assisting in the new client admissions process. 

Knowledge:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Some computer proficiency 

Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with clients and with other members of the Team
• Build and develop quality rapport with clientele whereby RSS may serve as a support system
• Documentation of observed behavioral issues and client interactions

Abilities:

• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
• Direct supervision of clients
• Enforcement of policies and procedures
• Observe and supervise medication administration while maintaining accurate medication logs and records
• Ability to work independently or with a team and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
• Offer clients support based upon the application of the 12 Steps in real life situations
• Offering and implementing various growth opportunities
• Observe client behavior assessing whether it enhances or diminishes the recovery process  
• Redirection of behavior which impedes the recovery process 
• Directly involved with the Admission process of a new client and the discharge process for clients, this includes doing a property search, a search of the client, completing all paperwork and uploading into the EMR and assisting the Admissions Team
• Attending groups, taking notes and logging information into the EMR when necessary

Other Characteristics:

• Position will pay sign-on bonus of $2,500*
• Transport clients to and from medical appointments
• Transport clients for Admission as well as for discharge
• Demonstrate and foster the company’s Mission, Vision and Value
• Will be required to pass 10 panel urine drug test, national and state background check, and other required pre-employment screening. 
• Valid driver's license required for select RSS positions.
• Weekday hours worked between 7 pm - 7 am receive $1 shift differential. Weekend (Saturday/Sunday) hours worked between 7 am - 7 pm receive $1 shift differential. Weekend hours worked between 7 pm - 7 am receive $2 shift differential. 
• Shifts - 2nd is 3 pm - 11 pm
