Job Description

The Ski & Snowboard School Support Team is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations in our Ski & Snowboard School. Team members are responsible for the image, appearance, and functionality of indoor facilities and outdoor teaching areas, including daily set up and tear down, lunch service, rental shop operations, and assistance with check-in and check-out procedures of child students.

Essential Job Functions

Indoor Support Services

  • Facilitates cross-communication between all Ski School personnel and parents of Aspen Snowmass’ younger guests
  • Daily set up and tear down of indoor facilities with an emphasis on attention to detail to present an area that is clean, welcoming, and conducive to operating efficiently
  • Coordinate the placement of children in to classes, input and file registration forms, assist with locating children separated from their class, and organize ski school races
  • Complying with relevant food handling safety code and assist with ordering, preparing, and serving lunches
  • Spend time with sick and tired children performing indoor activities and helping to motivate children when necessary
  • Facilitate equipment rentals for children including processing transactions and collecting payment, fitting and sizing children for equipment, and checking equipment in/out

Outdoor Support Services

  • Daily set up and tear down of outdoor teaching areas to present an area that is professional in appearance, and consistently set up to optimally utilize teaching terrain and teaching tools
  • Maintenance of kids trails including shoveling snow on or off attractions, and installing and maintaining signage and fencing
  • Assist with ski school check-in by meeting and greeting guests, answering questions, and collaborating with Coordinators to organize classes
  • Coordinate ski school races including race arena set up, managing start and finish areas, and maintaining courses

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be fluent in English
  • Childcare experience is preferred, but not necessary
  • Computer skills helpful, Word and Excel
  • Spanish or Portuguese is helpful, but not necessary

Additional Information

Supervision Given and Received

Supervision Given: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Supervision Received: Works under general supervision of Ski School Support Services Coordinator. Receives continuing or individual assignments according to supervisor’s directions and may perform routine tasks. Expectations of the quality, quantity and deadlines are clearly set. Instructions, advice and assistance available as needed. Work is reviewed on demand or during scheduled check-ins.

Work environment and physical demands

  • Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, bend or be on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Regularly work in wet, cold, hot conditions requiring the use of protective apparel/equipment to prevent exposure to the elements and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
  • Must be able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance
