The Mountain Operations manager provides leadership, management, strategic direction and execution of all Mountain Operations at Palisades Tahoe with an emphasis on the safety.

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC’s salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.
Base salary range: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned:
- Provide leadership, management, and strategic direction for all mountain operations departments. This includes ensuring that all goals are met or exceeded.
- Responsible for the training, recruitment, team development and motivation, asset management, financial planning, repairs, maintenance, upgrades/modifications, of mountain operations infrastructure.
- Comply with all service and safety standards in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Ensure that the maintenance and operation of our lifts and vehicles are in compliance with all state, federal and insurance company standards. Establish preventative maintenance schedules and tasks to avoid major repairs and expense.
- Constantly assess the risk of operations against the resort experience. Establish and frequently review operational communication, protocols and controls to mitigate risk.
- Ensure that the annual operations plan and associated budget is designed and aligned to meet company strategies and priorities.
- Compile and submit annual capital projects including scope, budget and timeline.
- Project planning and budgeting involves the coordination with many other departments and regular meetings are scheduled throughout the winter to ensure our projects meet the Company’s objectives and goals.
- Efficiently communicates pertinent information to both the Vice President of Mountain Operations and Mountain Managers.
- Work with all departments to make sure goals, strategies and operations are aligned with stakeholders and the business objectives.
- Act as an incident commander coordinating with all departments and necessary partner agencies during critical incidents.

- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
- Working knowledge of computers including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)
- Current, valid driver’s license preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, see, and hear. Must be capable of walking or standing insert 90% or more of a normal 8 hour work shift. Must be capable of occasionally carrying, lifting, pushing or pulling up to 25lbs. Must capable of occasionally squatting, bending, kneeling, reaching, and balancing, able to climb ladders and shovel snow. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions:
Indoor/Outdoor: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to outside extreme weather conditions.
Hazardous Materials/Noise: The noise level in the work place is usually moderate.
Education and Experience:
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 8 years of experience in Mountain Operations jobs with progressively greater responsibilities.
- Minimum five years supervisory experience in ski industry of multiple, complex departments.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Knowledge of Palisades Tahoe
- Blaster’s licensing
