Jackson Hole Classical Academy seeks a full-time Director of Campus Operations

Mission Alignment: Jackson Hole Classical Academy operates in the historic Christian tradition. All faculty, staff, and board members annually reaffirm their commitment to the Nicene Creed. During the initial screening process, applicants are asked to affirm their agreement with the Nicene Creed, before continuing in the application process.
Position Description: The Director of Campus Operations reports to the Head of School, oversees the Office of Campus Operations, and manages a high-functioning team of support staff. Following guidance and direction from the Head of School, the Director of Campus Operations is responsible for operating, maintaining, and enhancing the school’s physical environment in support of the school’s mission. The Director of Campus Operations assists the Head of School as a strategic thought partner with new or innovative solutions and policy proposals around the physical campus. The ideal candidate will also be able to provide leadership and strategic direction and design of the school’s craftsmanship program.
Duties and Responsibilities
Facilities Services and Operations Support
- Oversees customer-service oriented operational support staff and drives a culture of continual improvement in the team through a goal-oriented framework. Coordinates team meetings to ensure consistency in application of best practices.
- Prepares and manages Campus Operations budget and operates within budget.
- Coordinates strong partnerships with vendors to ensure regular campus services, to include utilities, landscaping, snow removal, janitorial, and other services.
- Manages physical assets, asset replacement and renewal, and leads strategic asset planning.
- Maintains regular required testing schedules of water and gas and proper reporting.
- Maintains required insurance coverages for the campus facility, equipment, vehicles, and grounds.
- Maintains maps, plans, construction documents, and other documents of the built environment.
- Ensures classrooms are properly furnished for curricular and extracurricular activities.
Operational Safety and Compliance
- Ensures compliance with relevant state and local regulations regarding implementation and reporting of school safety standards, procedures, and drills.
- Chairs the campus Safety and Security Committee and designs and updates all written safety and security procedures in the school’s emergency action plan.
- Trains staff on the school’s emergency action plan, including safety and security procedures.
- Schedules and conducts emergency drills per standard response protocol and legal framework.
- Issues keys and key cards and maintains records for all key and keycard access permissions.
- Properly and consistently implements the school’s concealed carry policy.
- Monitors key security cameras and maintains video records of relevant incidents.
- Designs and manages traffic procedures to ensure safety of students, staff, and campus visitors.
- Develops and maintains clear procedures for visitor and volunteer entry and exit from campus.
Craftsmanship Programming
- Provides leadership and strategic direction and design of the school’s craftsmanship program; working with the Head of School, ensures cultural alignment between craftsmanship course offerings and the school’s practical arts program and its classical, Christian mission.
- Designs and/or delivers educational programming in woodworking and craftsmanship for students, families, and staff in the school’s extracurricular practical arts program.
- Integrates the school’s facilities into craftsmanship programming for students.
Other Support
- Operationalizes academy and public events, including set up and tear down.
- Coordinates with outside groups for any approved use of campus facilities.
- Trains and oversees parent volunteers and delegates tasks effectively to ensure high standards of volunteerism in support of the academic mission.
- Engages stakeholders to gather feedback to improve campus operations.
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned by Head of School.
Prerequisite Skills and Expertise
- Highest standards of integrity, sound judgment, confidentiality, and reliability.
- Strong interpersonal, relational, communication, and management skills.
- Proficiency with software applications, including MS Office suite and other relevant systems.
- Proficiency with federal and state safety guidelines applicable to private schools.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Education and Professional Experience
- Extensive and diversified background in operations with at least three years of related experience.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.

- Salary is commensurate with experience.

Working Conditions and Expectations
- Work schedule typically aligns with the school calendar, including early mornings and occasional events outside school hours. When supporting events, the Director of Campus Operations is expected to work after hours and above 40 hours per week, as needed.
- Physical demands include standing for extended periods, lifting heavy items, and working in a fast- paced environment.
