Job Description:

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission has an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for sharing knowledge about hunting, fishing and outdoor activities and an eye for detail. We are looking for a positive individual with a desire to assist others in person and over the phone and who enjoys a variety of duties during their workday.

Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 – 5:00 pm
Location: 2200 N 33rd Street, Lincoln NE 68503

Job Duties:
• Assist the public in person and over the phone with issuance of permits, certificates, licenses, and big game applications. Register hunters for the Harvest Information Program, and answer questions in accordance with State Statutes, Regulations and Orders.
• Issue Disabled Hunt from Vehicle on Private land permits.
• Create and disable system usernames for internal permitting agents.
• Monitor Support Tickets, contact customers, solve issues.
• Issue Hard card replacement.
• Process application forms and payments for Nebraskaland magazine subscriptions.
• Notify successful recipients of Sponsored Youth Lifetime Permits; review claim forms for accuracy.
• Answer Permit Section and Lincoln Customer Service phone calls. Assist permit agents, both internal and external, with permit issuance inquiries.
• May assist with issuance of Disabled Veteran Permits, counting of permit books, and fulfillment of Park Entry Permits and Aquatic Invasive Species Stamps.
• Must be punctual with reliable attendance and willing to work in a fun, fast-paced environment.
• This position does not have the option to work remote.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Overnight Travel may be required but is rare.


Requirements / Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: Coursework/training in administrative/office support functions, procedures, and methods including the operation of personal computers and office equipment; or areas related to the programs and functions of the employing agency. OR Experience in customer service or public contact; or applying criteria/regulations; and/or performing administrative/office/secretarial support work including use of personal computers and office equipment.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference given for experience MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access).


Knowledge, skills and abilities:

Knowledge of general office procedures. Strong customer service, and organizational skills. Communicate in person and by telephone, computer, email, and/or correspondence to exchange information and ideas and assist customers. Operate personal computer and cash register, printer, copier, calculator, and lift and move up to 35-pound containers.
