Our Budget and Fiscal division is now hiring for a customer-oriented individual with a knack for numbers to join their Permits team! This is an excellent entry level opportunity and if you enjoy assisting the public and utilizing your accounting skills, we are looking for you! Job duties:
• Provide phone and email support to customers, NGPC park areas and external permit agents as related to permit system use, NGPC regulations and permit issuance.
• Review big game applications, process permit applications ensuring accuracy and completeness of forms and return inaccurate applications for correction. Key entry of eligible applicant information and local printing of permits.
• Deposit monies of miscellaneous receivables, monthly agent payments, daily receipts, and process related documents. Monitor communications from permit agents, district offices and park locations.
• Work with State Treasurer Office, agency staff and authorized permit agents regarding permitting process, report generation and depositing directions. Maintain supporting deposit documents and files.
• Assist with refund approval for external agents.
• Count and data enter returned park permit books and duplicate applications in a Microsoft Access database.
• Assist with Customer account revocations and reinstatements.
• High degree of attention to detail needed for reviewing and proofing financial documents. Microsoft Access and Excel knowledge and experience preferred. Training courses available.
• Customer service dealing with difficult customers via oral and written communication.
• Perform related work as required.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 35 lbs.

Hourly rate of 17.561 per hour – In office schedule 8am – 5pm Monday thru Friday – may require occasional overnight travel once or twice a year


Requirements / Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: Post high school coursework or vocational education in accounting, finance, business administration or related field OR experience performing accounting functions including interpreting and analyzing financial data.

Preferred Qualifications: Associate degree and 1-3 years’ experience in accounting, auditing payments/revenues, customer service and working with Microsoft Word, Access and Excel. Bilingual in Spanish desired.


Knowledge, skills & abilities:

Maintain financial records and prepare clerical accounting reports. Compute and compile figures; compare information and recognize discrepancies; communicate with agency staff to gather information and present facts. Working knowledge of analyzing and assessing financial data preferred. Data entry. Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Operate office machines such as 10-key calculator, photocopier, scanner and personal computer.
