The State of Maine is now recruiting staff for the new Maine Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) Program. The Auditor IIs will be key team members in one of the largest and most impactful new programs in the State with the objective of delivering a service that Mainers can easily use in their time of need.
As members of the of the Audit and Compliance Unit, the Auditor IIs will be responsible for performing audit and compliance functions for employers related to premium payments, employee classification, and private plan substitutions under limited supervision. This position will ensure that businesses understand their responsibilities and liabilities under the program and that approved private plan substitutions are operating in accordance with statute and rules of the program. The Audit and Compliance Unit will perform audit and enforcement practices as it relates to employer non-compliance in these areas.

Minimum qualifications:
A Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field and two (2) years experience in accounting/auditing -OR- a six (6) year combination of education, training, and/or experience at a professional auditing or accounting level – OR- a 5 year combination of education, training, and/or experience at a professional auditing or accounting level which includes one year experience at the Auditor I level.
